2008 Lomax Reserve Tasting Notes
Rich Bordeaux-style; deep ruby color, complex notes of stewed dark fruits (black cherries, figs), tobacco, violet, allspice, orange peel, with a long and smooth finish.About Granite Heights
Owners, Luke and Toni Kilyk, bought the initial piece of what is now known as Granite Heights in 1997. The most recent expansions of the current farmland occurred in 2007.
From the day they bought the property and moved to the farm, they have always believed in doing almost everything on their own when it comes to landscaping and farming. On the farm, they cut the grass, constructed the deer fencing for the vineyard, designed the vineyard, and so on. Now, with some time sensitive projects, they have had the help of additional folks, but they are right beside them getting their hands dirty. Their owner beliefs are simple -- they do not want to watch someone else do the job, if they can do the job themselves or with them. They have been and will be involved in every step that this farm takes (including designing the web site, designing and printing the wine and jam labels and so on). While you are here buy a bottle to take home and see if you can find Ashby, their late terrier, who can be seen hidden on every label!
